FRANCE-JUSTICE-CONSTITUTION-FILES
TO GO WITH AFP STORY BY PIERRE ROCHICCIOLI
(FILES) A picture taken on February 21, 2012 shows the French Conseil Constitutionnel (Constitutional council) frontdoor in Paris. France's top legal body ruled on January 23, 2015 that stripping a binational convicted jihadist of his French nationality was lawful, just as the country ups its fight against extremism. A Moroccan naturalised by France in 2003, was convicted and handed a seven-year prison term in March 2013 for being part of a terrorist organisation and was stripped of his citizenship in May 2014.
