Turkish leftist students protest against a Burger King retaurant on January 23, 2014, in Ankara. A Syrian refugee child has been beaten by a Burger King manager in Istanbul after eating a customer’s leftover fries, daily Cumhuriyet has reported.The incident, which reportedly occurred at the fast food chain’s branch at Sirinevler, in Istanbul,precipitated a massive reaction against Burger King after eyewitnesses shared details and photos showing the child sitting in blood after the incident. TAB Food, the main license holder for Burger King in Turkey, said in a statement released on Jan. 23 that the manager of the branch had been fired after the attack. AFP PHOTO ADEM ALTAN
