ITALY-POLITICS-VOTE-ELECTION-PRESIDENT

A constitutional court judge, Sergio Mattarella, 73, candidate of Prime Minister Matteo Renzi's ruling Democratic Party (PD), is looking well placed to succeed Napolitano as head of state.
