WEATHER-STORM-EUNICE
This January 30, 2015 NASA satellite photo shows Tropical Cyclone Eunice (09S) in the South Indian Ocean. Eunice, first classified as a tropical storm January 27 about 1200 miles (1931km)east of Madagascar in the southern Indian Ocean, exploded from a tropical storm with winds estimated at 60 mph(96kph) Tuesday evening (US EST) to Category 5 intensity, with maximum winds of 160 mph(257kph) just 48 hours later, according to the US Joint Typhoon Warning Center. Fortunately, Eunice is no threat to land, and will spin down in the middle of the south Indian Ocean by early next week far from Australia's west coast and Madagascar.
