MATTEO RENZI - ALEXIS TSIPRAS - MEETING
Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi present a necktie to newly elected Greece's Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras during a press conference after their meeting at Palazzo Chigi in Rome, Italy, on February 3, 2015. The two Prime Ministers concluded their statements with a joke and a gift. Both leaders laughed during the exchange, with the Greek PM replying in kind by giving the Italian PM a CD. Tsipras also promised to wear the tie when he wins the fight for a conclusive resolution to the Greek debt crisis. The two leaders held a press conference in Rome after a meeting in which they discussed the monumental challenges facing Greece, as Mr Tsipras and his finance minister, Yanis Varoufakis, tour European capitals to try to drum up their support for an end to austerity policies. 'I promise I will wear it when we find a viable solution for Europe,' Alexis Tsipras said, and Matteo Renzi told him: 'We hope that when the moment comes, and Greece emerges from the crisis, Alexis will be able to use this Italian tie.'
