TREASURE - GOLD - ISRAEL

An undated photograph supplied by the Israeli Antiquities Authority on 17 February 2015 shows the largest hoard of gold coins found in Israel, as they are displayed without needing any cleaning. The coins were found in the seabed of the ancient harbor in the Mediterranean Sea port of Caesarea National Park. The coins, almost 2,000 of them, are form the Fatimid period (eleventh century CE) and were discovered by a group of divers that reported the find to the Israel Antiquities Authority and were found due to stormy weather that exposed the treasure in recent weeks. The antiquities department did not put a value on the coins***
