POTATO - PORTRAITS
Pommes Woche in GB: Prominente Gesichter aus fritierten Kartoffelstäbchen von Prudence Satite / 190215 ***
OPS: One of the food portraits. Eddie Redmayne (left) and Benedict Cumberbatch***
[Supermodels Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne have never looked more mouthwatering – in a portrait made entirely of chips.
Also looking tasty are Oscar nominated actors Eddie Redmayne and Benedict Cumberbatch .
And British wartime leader Winston Churchill also gets the treatment with his own piece of food art.
The works were created by food artist Prudence Satite to celebrate Chip Week in the UK.
The marketing board behind it , the Potato Council, commissioned a series of edible artworks to immortalise what it called “ British greatness of our high-flying models, esteemed Oscar-nominated actors and greatest ever statesman. “
A spokesman said:” While Cara and Kate sashay the runways, will be flying the British flag at the Oscars this Sunday, as the country also marks the passing of Sir Winston Churchill, who was voted Britain’s greatest Briton– who famously refused to allow the ‘great companions’, Fish and Chips, to be rationed during the Second World War.”
Over 30 bags of chips were used in the creation of the artwork amounting to more than approximately 4,260 individually placed fries.
Three large bottles of ketchup were used to highlight the lips and clothing and 3.6 kilos of peas created the eye-catching jackets.
To replicate the stars’ flawless skin, nearly 5 litres of mayonnaise was liberally applied
Attention to detail is everything, so 2500 peppercorns were used to define every feature on the celebrities faces, held down by 5 kilos of dark chocolate ‘glue’
Bacon-mad Cara wears a brooch crafted from 20 bacon rashers while Churchill puffs on a trademark cigar which is actually a sausage.]
