Humane Society International rescues 57 dogs from the dog meat trade in South Korea
IMAGE DISTRIBUTED FOR HUMANE SOCIETY INTERNATIONAL - In this image released on Thursday, March 19, 2015, 57 dogs rescued by Humane Society International and Change for Animals Foundation from a dog meat farm in Hongseong, South Korea, are removed from their cages and prepared for transport to the United States. HSI worked with the farmer to remove the dogs from miserable conditions and close the doors of his facility for good. HSI and CFAF are partners in a consortium that is campaigning to end the dog meat trade and is engaging dog meat farmers in South Korea to transition them to alternative livelihoods, such as crop growing.
