(FILES) Picture taken 23 April 1993 in Paris of British biophysicist Francis Harry Compton Crick. British Nobel prize winner Francis Crick, who with James Watson discovered the double helix shape of DNA, has died at the age of 88, associates said 29 July 2004. The scientist passed away at a hospital Wednesday in San Diego where he had been battling colon cancer.
