DEMONSTRATION - PALESTINA
Palestinian demonstrators run for cover as Israeli soldiers (not seen) fire tear gas into demonstrators, in the West Bank city of Hebron. One day after two Jewish Israeli settlers were killed near the West Bank city of Nablus, Hamas called on Palestinians to protest in defense of Al Aqsa Mosque. In the West Bank city of Hebron, Palestinians gathered with Hamas flags and marched towards an Israeli military checkpoint. The escalating violence in the West Bank and Eastern Jerusalem captured world-wide attention after Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, defiantly said in his speech to the United Nations General Assembly, earlier this week, that if Israel continues its provocation and violence against Palestinian Muslim worshipers at the Al Aqsa Mosque, the Palestinian leadership will annul the Oslo Accords. The Oslo Accords are a set of agreements between the government of Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization, most of which center around security co-ordination between Palestinian security forces and Israeli soldiers, as well as a focal point of the Palestinian- Israeli peace process.
