Demonstrators Protest Police Shooting - Chicago
Protesters stop on North Michigan Avenue and Randolph Street in Chicago on Tuesday, November 24, 2015. They were protesting the 2014 police shooting of Laquan McDonald. The 17-year old McDonald, who was armed with a small knife fleeing police, was shot 16 times by officer Jason Van Dyke on the night of October 20, 2014. The Chicago Police, in response to a judge’s order, released the dash cam video on November 24, the same day that Van Dyke, who had been on desk-duty since the incident, was charged with first-degree murder and fired from the police force.
