A glitzy version of Samsung's new smartphone has gone ion sale – with a kilogram of gold on the back.Russian custom phone company Caviar is offering its Fine Gold Galaxy Note 9 with the heavy gold back-plate for 3.87million rubles – €50.220 Euros / £45,000 GBP / $57,315 USD .Samsung only announced its new smartphone at the beginning of August.The phone is already one of the costliest handsets on the market with prices ranging to over £1,000 GBP / €1.115 Euros / $1,275 USDCaviar has taken it up a notch, sticking 1,000 grams of gold on the back of the phone.The gold is clearly marked with its weight which is etched into the precious metal.The phone is designed to look like a gold ingot .The gold also makes the handset is seriously heavy for a portable device that fits in a pocket or bag.Typically, a common smartphone would weigh somewhere between 100 and 200 grams.A Caviar spokesman said: “We decided that the record-breaking, technically advanced, maximally ‘heaped’ Samsung Galaxy Note 9, whose characteristics are really impressive, is worthy of the absolutely unique version from Caviar, as luxurious as it was not before. “And so we created Caviar, for which we spent a kilogram of gold. “To create an exclusive design that repeats the appearance of the gold ingot, a kilogram of 999 gold was used. “We did not complicate the design of this jewellery and took the very shape of the gold ingot - the laconic, luxurious, expensive, just one glance to remember it forever! “This is an unforgettable gift for a man who is difficult to surprise. “The handset is available from the company website.
