Paris Mayor Bertrand Delanoe talks to reporters 22 August 2004 during his visit to a Jewish social center in central Paris, which was destroyed by fire overnight in an anti-Semitic arson attack. The premises, around 100 square meters on the ground floor of a block, were set on fire around 4.00 am (0200 GMT) 22 August 2004. The fire was rapidly put out and the building was not evacuated, police said. There were no casualties, but the center was gutted. Swastikas had been daubed in red felt tip on two fridges.
