Heavy vehicles remain parked by local Serbs blocking the road in the village of Rudare, in northern Kosovo on Monday, Dec. 12, 2022. Barricades erected by local Serbs in the north of Kosovo remained up on Monday for the third consecutive day, despite calls from the international community to be removed and the situation de-escalated. Kosovo on Saturday postponed a local election due Dec. 18 in four municipalities with a predominantly ethnic Serb population, in an effort to defuse recent tensions there that have also caused relations with neighboring Serbia to deteriorate further.
