SAFRICA-CRIME-WEAPONS-NUCLERA-MEYER-
Johan Meyer, 53, a South African businessman with alleged links to a global nuclear smuggling ring, leaves Vanderbijlpark court 08 August 2004. Meyer was remanded in custody for further investigation after unexpectedly withdrawing his bail application. Meyer was arrested 02 September and was charged a day later with three counts of possessing sensitive nuclear-related equipment and of illegally importing and exporting nuclear material.
