Rally Against Land Transfer To Azerbaijan - Armenia
Armenian protesters wave the flag of Armenia during a rally against land transfer to Azerbaijan, on Yerevan's Republic Square on May 10, 2024. The protest march led by Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, began on May 4th from Kirants village in Armenia’s northeastern Tavush province and culminated on May 9th with a massive demonstration in Yerevan’s Republic Square. The protest movement “Tavush for the Homeland” began following the announcement of the start of the delimitation/demarcation process with Azerbaijan on April 19. Armenia has agreed to hand over territory it has controlled since the 1990s and started border delimitation efforts in a bid to secure an elusive peace deal with Baku and avoid another bloody conflict.
