A new vodka is promising to taste out of this world — because it is infused with a meteorite from outer space.

The drink, called Shooting Star, is aged for at least one year in a terracotta jar while the meteorite is suspended in the middle where it partially dissolves into the liquid.

Shooting Star Vodka is made from organic, locally sourced wheat and botanicals from France.

Before getting to the aging process, it is distilled using iStill described as the most advanced distilling technology.

It is then slowly reduced over a month-long period with pure spring water from the well 150 meters below the distillery of maker Pegasus Distillerie.
in Burgundy.

This state-of-the-art process allows the makers to concoct small batches, creating uniquely refined flavours and aromas.

The taste is described as smooth with a unique sweet note that complements the minerals infused from the meteorite which was discovered in 1977.

Pegasus Distillerie founder and CEO Maxime Girardin said the uniqueness is partly down to chondrite, a mineral unique to meteorites.
