ARMENIA - EREVAN - PROTEST IMPOTRIVA GUVERNULUI
Protest leader Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan before his speech during a rally against the government, in Yerevan Republic Square on June 9, 2024. Citizens led by Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan held a demonstration in the heart of Yerevan at Republic Square calling for the formation of a new government by the end of the week. Part of the agenda defined by the archbishop: is stable and long-term peace, elimination of the threat of force, urgent solution to humanitarian problems, removal of Azerbaijani Armed Forces from Armenian territory, the return of Artsakh citizens, and return of captives. Galstanyan made a statement that in 4 days he and his supporters would occupy the streets and squares in Yerevan and with perseverance they would win, “We won’t betray each other, I definitely won’t betray you. I won’t be betrayed” he said. Supporters of the movement Tavush for the Homeland are currently setting up tents on some of the main streets in Yerevan with no intention to move while Archbishop Galstanyan is calling for 96 hours until they achieve victory.
