Traders work on the trading floor of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) in New York, the United States, on Aug. 5, 2024. U.S. stocks ended sharply lower on Monday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell by 1,033.99 points, or 2.60 percent, to 38,703.27. The S&P 500 sank 160.23 points, or 3.00 percent, to 5,186.33.
