Fans of jewellery house Tiffany & Co can now watch time fly — with a clock shaped like a vintage aircraft.
The Tiffany Airways collection clock in the company’s famous blue livery costs $42,000 USD / €38.445 euros
It is made in Switzerland said to pay tribute to the company’s heritage of expert Swiss watchmaking and 1930s aviation.
It is crafted in aluminium and stainless steel and features functional wheels with rubber tyres, mimicking conventional landing gear that balance the piece.
Hours and minutes are displayed on large stainless steel disks on the nose of the plane.
The cage that forms the cockpit ends with an arrow shape, pointing to the time.
A “TCO” monogram is featured on the tail wing while Tiffany & Co. engraving is on the nose of the plane, in front of the time display.
The time is set by rotating the openwork engine clockwise, and the movement is wound by rotating the engine counterclockwise.
?There is a removable stainless steel stand to support the timepiece which stands 4cm high and just over 35 cm long.??It tips the scales at a hefty 3 kg and is available now.
