Teachers in Argentina go on strike demanding better salaries
BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA - AUGUST 14: University and secondary school teachers gather to attend a national strike held in front of the National Congress to demand better salaries in Buenos Aires, Argentina on August 14, 2024. The first of the strike days, defined by the Trade Union Front of National Universities, received high support nationwide according to union sources and various public universities, with participation estimated to be over 90%. The measure of force is in demand for the deterioration of the salaries of teachers and non-teachers: the Trade Union Front estimates that the loss of purchasing power is around 50% since the beginning of the year.
