August 16, 2024: Cadillac has created a new self-driving concept vehicle - the Opulent Velocity. .Marrying advanced technology with bespoke luxury, this concept car represents Cadillac’s forward-looking vision for the future of electric performance in its V-Series range..As a trailblazer in electric vehicle (EV) and autonomous driving technology, Cadillac harnesses these innovations to create the two distinct experiences within Opulent Velocity..“Opulent Velocity is an experience-driven design study,†says Bryan Nesbitt, Executive Director of Global Cadillac Design. “It embodies the future of luxury performance, integrating Cadillac’s leadership in hands-free driving capabilities, electrification, and performance excellence. Opulent Velocity represents the pinnacle of technology, luxury, and exhilaration, as seen in Cadillac’s halo V-Series variants and future electrified designs.â€.The Opulent experience reimagines the personal freedom that fully autonomous mobility could provide. With Level 4 autonomous capability, the vehicle offers a hands-free, immersive journey through multi-sensory modes designed for relaxation. These modes are accessible via a widescreen display and an Augmented Reality Head-Up Display (AR HUD)..During the development of Opulent Velocity, Cadillac delved into the science of sound and light waves. These insights were incorporated throughout the cabin, blending curated art, entertainment, and ambient lighting to envelop travellers in a sophisticated, personalised, hands-free environment..The Velocity experience delivers the thrill of a hypercar while maintaining the luxury that is synonymous with Cadillac’s V-Series. With the touch of a multi-functional controller, Opulent Velocity transitions from autonomous mode to the Velocity experience.
