Juventus star Pavel Nedved told 24 September 2004 the Czech Republic football federation he was retiring at the age of 32 from international soccer after winning 83 caps. Nedved, the 2003 European Player of the Year and Czech national captain, pulled out of a World Cup qualifier in Holland the Czechs lost 2-0 two weeks ago and said then he would continue playing for his country.
