US-VOLCANO-MOUNT ST. HELENS
With the summit of Mount St Helens completely shrouded in clouds, visitors at the Coldwater Ridge Visitors Center at the Mount St. Helens National Monument train their binoculars and cameras on birds, elk and other subjects in the valley of the mountain as they wait hopefully for a glimpse of the volcano 06 October 2004. The alert level for an eruption at Mount St. Helens has been downgraded to a level two, with scientists saying steam venting may continue for days or weeks without knowing for sure whether there will be a magma eruption during that period.
