KENYA-ELPHANT-ORPHAN
(FILES) This file picture taken 18 April 2000 at Nairobi-s national park shows Bernard Malonza, an attendant at the elephant orphanage, feeding a an eight-month old baby elephant. A campaign for a 20-year moratorium on ivory trading failed at a global wildlife conference in Bangkok 11 October 2004 amid dismay among some conservationists who said it represented a "death sentence" for elephants. The move by Kenya and backed by the European Union failed to get two-thirds of the necessary votes at a meeting of the body charged with regulating the international multi-billion dollar wildlife trade.
