BOTSWANA-ELECTION-SALESHANDO-RALLY
Dumelang Saleshando, leader of Botswana Congress Party (BCP) addresses a small crowd at a rally in a poor part of Gaborone 28 October 2004 two days before the country goes to the polls on general election. His opponent, incumbent president Festus Nogae, who has led a multi-front offensive on AIDS in the world-s second-worst affected country is set to win the elections. Mogae is appealing for a strong turnout to win a clear mandate for a final five-year term that will serve to shape his legacy as the third president of this nation of 1.6 million people.
