IRAQ-VOTE
Iraqi men arrive at the main convention center in Baghdad to listen to a lecture on the upcoming national electoral procedures, 31 October 2004. Any Iraqi wanting to vote or run, whether party-sponsored or independent, in the country-s landmark elections, promised by January, must ensure that their name is registered from tomorrow. A group linked to Abu Musab al-Zarqawi and others have sent menacing letters to the organisers of Iraq-s upcoming elections warning them to stop work or die, a member of the electoral team said today.
