Hong Kong-s tourism sector continued to pick up with visitor arrivals in the first nine months surpassing the total for the whole of 2003. Hong Kong had 15.8 million arrivals in the first nine months of 2004, exceeding the total of 15.54 million recorded for 2003, when much of the year was impacted by the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) outbreak.
