RUN-NYC MARATHON-START
Thousands of runners begin the 2004 New York City Marathon 07 November 2004. South Africa-s Hendrik Ramaala went on to win the men-s title at the New York Marathon while Britain-s Paula Radcliffe, whose bid for Olympic gold ended in tears, outlasted Kenya-s Susan Chepkemei in the tighest women-s duel in the race-s history to win the event.
