EGYPT-IRAQ-CONFERENCE
Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul Gheit attends 23 November 2004 an international conference on Iraq which opened in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh with a call to work for the stability of the war-wracked country in tandem with a solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. US Foreign Secretary Colin Powell was among 20 foreign ministers at the conference, also attended by UN Secretary General Kofi Annn, European Union foreign policy chief, Javier Solana, and the six neighbouring states of war-wracked Iraq.
