IRAQ-US-SADDAM
US marines from the 2nd Batallion, 24th Marines expeditionary unit have a chat next to a topples leader Saddam Hussein-s poster with a Santa hat at their forward operating base St. Michael in the central Iraqi city of Mahmudiya, south of Baghdad, 08 December 2004. Marines brandishing M16 assault rifles break into the country home of Sheikh Abdullah Al-Janabi. They-re not really expecting the rebel leader to be there, but their visit is part of a plan to shut down what many US commanders say is "ground zero" of the insurgency.
