Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon casts his ballot 09 December 2004 in Tel Aviv, as his Likud party members vote on whether to allow the Labour party, the main opposition faction led by Shimon Peres, into government. Sharon has warned that unless he can bring the center-left Labour opposition party into a new broad-based cabinet, he will have no option but to call fresh elections and thus imperil the timetable for next year-s exit from Gaza.
