PORTUGAL-PAEDOPHILE-TRIAL
Former Portuguese TV host Carlos Cruz (L) leaves Monsanto Court in Lisbon where he is charged with sexual abuse of minors at Casa Pia, a state-run network of children-s homes, 16 December 2004. The chief accused in the high profile trial of seven people, Carlos Silvino, a former driver at Casa Pia was the first person to take the stand. It was his testimony that incriminated Cruz and former ambassador to South Africa Jorge Ritto in the case.
