SUDAN-DARFUR-AID

US President George W. Bush applauded yesterday both the government of Sudan and the rebel movement for ending a civil war, but reminded Khartoum that fighting must end in Darfur. Since February 2003, Darfur has been wracked by conflict between the Arabic government in Khartoum, largely represented by local Arab militias, and two rebel groups fighting for the rights of the black African peoples of the region.
