TANZANIA-ZIMBABWE-MUGABE-KARUME
Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe lays a wreath 12 January 2005 on the grave of Abeid Karume, the father of Zanzibar-s leader Amani Abeid Karume (front L), at the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi offices in the Tanzanis-s semi-autonomous isle of Zanzibar. The late Karume was the leader of Zanzibar-s revolution in 1964. Mugabe vowed to push ahead with the land reform policies in Zimbabwe and urged other African countries not to relent in efforts to redress colonial-era inequities at the celebrations that were also attended by Tanzania-s President Benjamin Mkapa.
