SPAIN-ART-CHILLIDA-TINDAYA
An aerial view shows Tindaya mountain in the Canary islands, 14 January 2005. The mountain, which recently deceased Basque sculptor Eduardo Chillida hoped to become a giant work of art will be realised in the following years. Chillida-s vision was to hollow out the interior of the mountain to form a gigantic cube to explore his ideas of space, scale and their relation with humanity. The work, which has caused much consternation from ecologists about its impact on the environment was given the green light friday to go ahead. It will be finished by an international team of engineers and sculptors.
