IRAQ-US-UNREST-CHRISTIANS-CASMOUSSA
Catholic archbishop Basile Georges Casmoussa, leader of the small Syriac Catholic community in the northern Sunni Muslim bastion of Mosul, is seen following his release 18 January 2005. Casmoussa was freed after he was seized by gunmen yesterday afternoon and bundled into the boot of their car. Baghdad-s Archbishop Matti Matoka , who ruled out any political motives for the abduction of the prelate, told AFP earlier that the kidnappers demanded 200,000 dollars to free Casmoussa.
