SURFING-AUS-SAF-SMITH-ACTION
ISA world junior champion South African Jordy Smith flips over to score a double victory in the U17 and U19 divisions of the HIC Grommet Challenge on the Gold Coast, 19 January 2005. Smith scored three perfect tens throughout the contest, one of them during his U17 final. The 15 year old also proved unbeatable in the U19 final, posting a near perfect heat score of 18 plus (out of a possible 20 points) within the first half of the 25-minute heat. Smith left his opponents from Australia Harrison Roach, Josh Bull and Alex Chacon of Brazil fighting it out for runner up position. AFP PHOTO
