INDONESIA-HEALTH-FLU
Chicken for sale are seen at a market in Yogyakarta, 27 January 2005 a year after a bird flu disease hit the area. According to officials at the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), the avian flu virus in South-east Asia needs closer monitoring in order to further understand its character and the --dinamics of the disease--. In Indonesia thousands of fowls have died of bird flu in a district in Indonesia-s main island of Java in the past month and a variation of bird flu was blamed for the deaths of as many as 40 million people worldwide in 1918.
