(FILES) -- File picture dated 10 September 1975 shows then United Nations secretary general Kurt Waldheim (C) during talks at the UN headquarters in New York between Greek Cypriot negotiator Glafkos Clerides (L) and Turkish Cypriot Rauf Denktash, following the 1974 Turkish invasion of Cyprus. Denktash became the president of the self-declared Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), in 1983, nine years after the division of the east Mediterranean island.
