Chinese policemen confort babies rescued from a group of human traffickers in Zhengzhou, central China-s Henan province 06 May 2005. Chinese police rescued some 9,000 kidnapped women and children last year as human trafficking gangs become more violent and internationalised, as more than 5,400 kidnapped women were recovered in nearly 2,500 cases, while 3,500 children were rescued from their captors in 1,975 cases.
