CHINA-TRAFFICKING
Chinese police rescue a woman that was kidnapped from her home in China-s Inner Mongolia, at a house where she was kept in Xuchang, central China-s Henan province 24 May 2005. Chinese police rescued some 9,000 kidnapped women and children last year as human trafficking gangs become more violent and internationalised, as more than 5,400 kidnapped women were recovered in nearly 2,500 cases, while 3,500 children were rescued from their captors in 1,975 cases.
