Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin departs the House of Commons following a confidence vote 19 May 2005 in Ottawa. Martin-s minority Liberal government narrowly won the high stakes confidence vote, by one vote, following weeks of political drama that had pitted the Liberals, accused of corruption, against opposition lawmakers eager for a chance to govern.
