URUGUAY-VAZQUEZ-COMMANDERS-HHRR
Uruguayan President Tabare Vazquez (2L) gives a press conference next to armed forces commanders lieutenant general Angel Bertolotti (Army, R), lieutenant general Enrique Bonelli (Air Force, 2nd-R) and vice admiral Tabare Daners (Navy, R) 08 August, 2005 after a meeting at the Suarez presidential house in Montevideo. Vazquez said that there is a 99 percent of certitude that the corpse of Maria Claudia Garcia, assassinated during the Uruguayan dictatorship (1973-85), is still buried inside the 14th Infantry battalion compound. Garcia was daughter-in-law of Argentine poet Juan Gelman. The Air Force authorities confirmed also that they are able to locate the places where two other missing people are buried.
