AFGHANISTAN-VOTE-POSTERS
Afghan men read posters illustrating how to vote for the country-s forthcoming parliamentary elections in Kabul, 11 August 2005. Afghanistan still faces a funding shortfall of some 19 million US Dollars for next month-s elections, but the polls will go ahead as planned, the United Nations said. A week ago the world body said it needed 31 million US dollars for the landmark post-Taliban vote on 18 September, and it has so far only received pledges for 12 million, including eight million from the United States.
