AFGHANISTAN-VOTE-POSTERS
An Afghan woman waits for a bus at a bus station lined with candidate posters for the forthcoming parliamentary elections in Kabul, 25 August 2005. Organisers of Afghanistan-s key legislative elections in September said they would take precautions to avoid a repeat of a row over the ink used to mark voters- fingers in the 2004 presidential polls. Last October-s historic election, won by US-backed Hamid Karzai, almost went awry when supposedly indelible ink aimed at stopping people from casting more than one vote disappeared with a little rubbing.
