IRAQ-US-KIOWA-UNREST
A picture released by the US Army shows Army Chief Warrant Officer Bernd Knox and Capt. David Hnyda conducting a pre-flight inspection on a OH-58D Kiowa Warrior helicopter before flying a mission from Forward Operating Base MacKenzie in Iraq 28 October 2004. The Kiowa is assigned to Delta Troop, 1st Battalion, 4th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division. Two US pilots were killed 13 January 2006 when their helicopter crashed in northern Iraq, the US military said.
