Police inspector Raul de la Cruz examines, 11 January 2006, burned out components of a homemade firebomb that investigators recovered from a Globe Telecom mobile telephone relay tower that was attacked by communist New People-s Army rebels in the town of Penaranda, north of Manila. Communist New People-s Army rebels firebombed and opened fire on the facility, 09 January as part of an extortion attempt to force the company to pay "revolutionary tax" to the insurgents.
