OLY-2006-SKI-COMBINED-DOWNHILL-CANCELLATION
The billboard near the Women-s Combined Downhill course in San Sicario, Italy, indicates 17 February, 2006 that the first part of the race is cancelled due to bad wind conditions. The start of the race had already been delayed for 75 minutes and was cancelled after the first athlete, Nika Fleiss from Croatia, suffered a minor fall. The downhill race of the COmbined event is to be rescheduled for another day. The Turin 2006 Winter Olympics Alpine Skiing competitions are held between 12-25 February and yield five medal events for both men and ladies. AFP PHOTO JEFF HAYNES
