SPACE-SUNSPOTS
This 03 April, 2006 Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO)image shows the Sun. Things are heating up on the sun as sunspot group 865(R) continues to grow. It now stretches more than 10 Earth diameters from end to end. The spot has a twisted and possibly unstable magnetic field that harbors energy for M-class solar flares, that can cause brief radio blackouts that affect Earth-s polar regions.
